HELP! : Samsung MS28 Xbox Drive TROUBLE FLASHING!

ok when i boot up from my flash drive then attempt to read the xbox OFW the following message pops up on my screen...

try jungleflasher? or do some troubleshooting, use iprep to check if your chipset etc is ok to use, check the firmware is in the correct place etc, the reason it cant find the sam original firmware (sam-OFW) is probs because it hasnt read it yet

Its because your computer aint detecting the drive. Try a different sata port on the sata card

If using Iprep then select the via sata card when making a bootable flash drive

sounds to me that its trying to modify your firmware but you haven't read it off your drive yet have you looked in the BACKUPS\2066867\60106\directory to see if samOFW.bin is in there, Iprep or JF is your best bet

i went into my thumb drive ... clicked the folder that said BACKUPS then clicked the folder that said 2066867 then clicked the folder that read 60106 ,
and in there theres an icon and next to it says SAMCFW under it it says BIN File and under that says 256kb ... what does this mean?
anything you could tell would be greatly appreciated

So where is your original binfile Samofw? Looking at that, the file you got is the custom firmware thats got your key in ready to be flashed back after you've read your key off the drive,have you used something like firmtool to hack the original bin file (SamOFW) and create the custom one (SamCFW) What steps did you take before you used dosflash,What did you use to get your key off the drive and did you use something like firmtool to inject your key into the ixtreme FW to create the SamCFW ,If your key is in that file you only got to flash it back. So are you using the correct command in dosflash to write it and not read it, I don't use dos so much and if i do i use iprep which does it all for you, so not quite sure off the commands for dosflash so if i was you i'd just start again either with iprep or Jf.and i hope that dir you put them into on your usb isn't your serial no or ms might be booting you off live

wow... guess you have finally figured out my problem.. lol i'm a noob & i thought i read n learned all the steps to flash and thats one step i wasnt even aware of...now to figure out how to go about actually doing it.. im a little confused ...
but @ least now i know what the problem is...thanks a TON

I am running into the same problem. My ms28 drive is detected but after the do my power cycle then "r" to read drive, enter the correct port number and then enter samOFW.bin I get the same error saying no device present!

mackemsrule you say where's is your original bin file file? Doesn't the read drive process create my samOFW.bin file? younglos1g have you figured it out yet?
