So, I got myself a Nintendo Wii, hacked it up quite nicely, USB loader and what not... so I figure... hey, what the heck, why not try the 360, it's got better games and graphics anyway... Wink

So I go down to my local GameStop and buy your average, run of the mill, no HDD, used 360 Console... SWEET!

Skipping ahead, I decide I want to mod the console...

I get here...

I read the tutorials...

I have loads of issues... here they are :p

360(A):
1.S/N: 7075135 63106
2. DRIVE: SAMSUNG
3. F/W: MS25

360(B)
1. S/N:3069514 55005
2. DRIVE: SAMSUNG
3. F/W: MS25

On 360(A) I followed the tutorial called "XBOX 360 Hacking For Dummies" (guess I need the idiots guide Wink). I did everything properly and got my drive to where I need to enter "dSam and fSam."

Code:

dSam 7075135 63106
r (read)
filename: SamOFW.bin

I get no Key found in orig.bin, I go to restart xbox and a get a 3 quadrant RRoD (hardware failure)... GOODY! So I take the drive and put it in 360(B) everything works fine again, I'm faced with a new serial number is all.

same thing, no key found in orig.bin, but no RRoD, thank god.

Here are my questions...

1. Can I use ANY drive and flash with my serial number
2. Why am I getting RRoD (everything seems to be working fine)
3. I bought a replacement MS25 drive because mine are reading as MS28 even though the sticker says MS25, will it work?
4. Even when I put my original MS25 drive from 360(A) into JungleFlash and finally get it in Vendor mode I get all sorts of errors saying unable to read drive etc.... and Sammy Un_Locker doesn't seem to work, why?

Thanks for anyone's reply, I know this is a god awful, horrible n00b post but it's all I got. Sorry Sad

to use any dvd drive you first have to dump the key from the original drive which means you need to get into vendor mode. as for rrod i cnt know y u got it. iv got it b4 while playing i just turned of the console turned it back on n havent herd from rrod since (been about a yr) so it was prob nothing. have you tried the activate iso disk with jungleflasher?

Well, everything in JungleFlasher finally went through with the MS28 drive, yet, I played a regionfree copy of L4D and it says "to play this disc please insert to an xbox360 console" any idea why? I thought the iXtreme 1.51 firmware allowed playing backups. It's burnt to a Memorex DVD+R DL 8.5GB disc. burned using ImgBurn via the tutorial on this website.

i dont know much about playing original xbox games but just check and see if your 360 s still playing originals and dvds. if you have the time open your xbox and connect to pc and read(dump) with JF just to check its at 1.51

must be the way you burned. try reburning the game. does it come with a dvd file for setting the layer break? and are you checking it with abgx?

It was a scene release so yes it came with a dvd file. I set the DL break by hand. 191370 or something similar. It was this release.

Left.4.Dead.PROPER.XBOX360-x360inT

For the record, I DO own this game, I just have a little brother and dog who love to scratch discs. It is also easier for me to download then rip a copy.

u dnt need to explain ur situation to me m8 Razz download abgx off xbins (you can get xbins by goin to the main pge of this site and under the news title there will be a bold xbins quote-click on it) once you have abgx go to the autofix tab and select level 3...load up your iso file and click start. it will fix any problems with the rip. once its done open up imgburn load the dvd file and burn at 2.4 as u did b4...see if that helps...

All clear. No bad red/yellow text. Is it a problem that I don't have a hard drive?
