Connectivity Kit. I also took another dvd drive and dosflashed it to see that i'm using the right port 9F00 and it is. Do i need to install anything on my PC like drivers to make this work.

all you need is the dos bootable files, the l-o-erase.exe file and the dosflash files then it should work

So what should i try if it consistently stalls at "erasing..." Everything to that point seems to work fine, it just wont erase the drive.

if the drive is returning any drive status the drive shouldn't be broken imo anyway, just keep at it, you try then try then try again, some times jungleflasher will work some times it wont, its hit and miss, as the drive is locked they can be stubborn sumtimes to get them to respond, ive never failed yet and ive tried on purpose to brick or get it so that it wont respond at all

When do u call your drive dead??? i can only get FF80 to show up in dos and JF. What about drivers? should there be something done with drivers? i'm running windows 7 32.

if the drive is responding in any way shape or form then its not dead imo, your getting a responce from it, not the correct responce but it shows its still working ( in a way ), you dont need any drivers for the dos, everything is in the dos boot device, as long as you have the l-o-erase.exe and dosflash
you can keep trying, or like ive done sometimes just continued as the drive will ( on a rare occasion ) give the wrong status

so just keep trying the command ? It seems like i've done jf and dos at hundred times ! |

i have a locked liteon after erasing with jungleflasher. the drive is 74850c
I tried averything, from re-sending intro/vendor id several times, and Iprepv009 dosflash, 3 different versions, and finally your walkthrough.
But all the same errors, like my drive really went gone.
My errors :
No drive on sata port detected ( with dosflash, where i should choose my drive to W - Write to )
status FFFF or FF7F ( with your method )
Status f7ff at jubgle flasher.
My port is 7800 but all the programs sees thing there. And i spent like, 15 hours on it...
Hope you would have an idea.
I use the xbox for power, this is not first time, i had 1.5, 1.51 1.6 and 1.61 installed on the drive.
The origional drive was a samsung, then microsoft changed it after my second RROD into this liteon.
On the liteon i had first 1.60 then 1.61 and now i wanted to inject LT but now it freezed.
I used a new CLEAN and for this purpose onely installation of winxp, did not install drivers ( via card ) used the intern sata port .
Hope you have enough info. Hope you can help. I have a really angry wife looking at me...
thanks, chris.

hey man i have tried this and i get ff80 then after i sometimes get ff2f or it just stays at ff80 i have never been able to get ff72
but even though i dont get ff72 im still able to get status x72 when i power cycle but the drive hangs on erase
the thing with my drive is that i flashed it in dosflash using a dummy instead of the LT bin by accident
is that the problem?
